So, I’ve had this happen so many times in the past two months that I’ve just got to mention it.
Someone will be telling me about the history of a place, and they will say the phrase “In ancient times,” which due to their accented way of speaking English sounds like “In Asian times…” Every time, I stand confounded for a moment, and think… “This is Asia. Of course they’re Asian times…” and then I feel very silly and realize that they’re saying the word “ancient.”
It’s something silly that’s happened a few too many times now. It makes me chuckle, so I thought I’d share.
